Minutes:
Daniel Shamplin-Hall, Adviser, introduced item two: a draft of the Post-Brexit England Commission final report for member approval before publication at LGA Annual Conference in July.
Following the presentation from Daniel, the Chairman praised the strength of the report, and how the Commission had engaged a broad range of councils and external stakeholders across its regional roadshows to inform the report’s findings. The Chairman outlined that the report would serve as a good foundation for the Board to engage with the new Government on the future of non-metropolitan England.
Members then made the following comments:
Members requested that the report outline the difficulty residents facing renting as well as buying properties in rural areas.
Decisions
The following decisions were reached:
1. Members approved the Commission’s final report for publication at the LGA Annual Conference 2019.
2. Members approved the write ups of the Commission’s regional roadshows.
