Rural Digital Connectivity Working Group

Minutes:

Daniel Shamplin-Hall introduced item seven. It outlined the activities of the Rural Digital Connectivity Working Group over the 2018/19 political cycle and asked members to consider whether they wish to continue using the working group model or steer future work in this area more directly through the Board.

 

Members then made the following comments:

 

There was a consensus from all parties that the Board continues its focus on digital connectivity.  However, members agreed to defer a decision as to whether the Working Group model should continue to the future 2019/20 Board.

 

The Chairman gave thanks and praise to Daniel for his tenacity and hard work. He outlined the importance for the Board to continue its work in this area in order to push for faster and more reliable digital connectivity in non-metropolitan areas.

 

Decisions

 

1.    Members reviewed the activity of the Working Group over the 2018/19 political cycle.

Members agreed to defer a decision as to whether the Working Group model should continue it to the future 2019/20 Board.
