The Chairman welcomed Members, officers and guests to the meeting.

Apologies had been received from Cllrs Clare Coghill, Matthew Lee, Cath Homer, Barry Lewis, Nick Worth and Brigid Jones.

No declarations of interest had been received.

The Chairman welcomed Lord Mendoza, Commissioner for Cultural Recovery and Renewal (DCMS), Emma Squire, Director at Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), and Tony Strutt, Team Manager (DCMS), and presented them with a series of slides which set out cultural responsibilities within local government, the places, offers and activities in which local government is responsible for and the financial aspects of these cultural activities.

Lord Mendoza provided a short overview of his role and future objectives, and Emma added additional information in relation to ongoing projects and discussions.

Lord Mendoza and Emma answered a series of questions from Members of the Board.
