Phil began the afternoon session by restating the new expanded role of the Improvement and Innovation Board, now dealing with improvement across all LGA boards.

Followed by Apu Bagchi, Deputy Chair of the Children and Young People Board which have overseen substantial sector-led improvement, particularly within children’s services.

Members discussed in greater detail with officers or more generally within their groups aspects of how the IIB board operates which need to be resolved in light of its wider remit. In particular; What can the board offer the other boards and the LGA and what is required of the other boards.
