The City Regions Board had been asked to nominate one member to sit on a new LGA Cross Board Task and Finish Group on local government’s role in respect of an ageing society.

The aim of this time limited group will be to review the future role of local government in respect of an ageing society; the opportunities and challenges that an ageing society presents and how local government might prepare itself in the immediate and longer term to respond to these.  It is expected to publish its findings in March/April 2015.

The Board appointed Cllr Helen Holland as their representative on the CWB task group exploring the role of local government in an ageing society.

Action:  CWB officers to be advised of appointment and to follow up with Cllr Holland.
