Patrick was first elected in 1992 as the youngest Member at 24 years of age and has served on Plymouth City Council for 24 years in most Local Government roles including Conservative Group Leader from 1997 – 2002, Council Leader 2000/02, the youngest Lord of Plymouth in 2005/06, Deputy Leader Conservative Group since 2012 and Deputy Leader of the Council 2016/18.

 

In recent years Patrick has specialised in Housing, Transport & Planning for which he has served as Cabinet Member and  formerly as Chair of the Planning Committee.

 

Patrick has previously served on the former LGA Housing Committee and Cultural Services Board. He is also a Magistrate on the South & West Devon Bench.

 

In addition to his public service Patrick is the Contracts Manager for the Babcock International Group at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth where he has commercial responsibility for the Royal Navy Warship refitting programme.
