James Swindlehurst has been Leader of Slough Borough Council since December 2017 and has been a councillor for 16 years, serving as deputy leader of the authority from 2008-16.

James is the Lead Member for Regeneration and Strategy, although in his time as a councillor he has held various portfolios in the Council’s Cabinet, covering economic development, the environment and neighbourhoods, regeneration, planning and housing.  James is passionate about developing Slough in a sustainable way; improving it as a place for residents and the companies who also have Slough as their home.
