Councillor Margaret Mullane is the Cabinet Member for Enforcement and Community Safety in Barking and Dagenham, a post she has held since 2018.
Barking and Dagenham faces serious challenges when it comes to crime and safety, as years of funding cuts have impacted frontline police services. Campaigning to secure the funding the police need to keep communities safe is a top priority for Councillor Mullane, along with bringing the community together to address issues such as serious youth violence, domestic violence and anti-social behaviour in the borough. Councillor Mullane also oversees policy and enforcement for areas including parking and private landlord licensing.
