Shama Tatler is Councillor for Kingsbury Ward in the London Borough of Brent and was first elected in 2014. She serves as the Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Planning. As part of her role she oversees some of the largest regeneration projects in London, including the Wembley Park area and also leads on the multi-award winning estate regeneration scheme in South Kilburn. She also oversaw the largest (currently) estate regeneration ballot in South Kilburn, where residents overwhelmingly voted in support of continuing the scheme. As part of her lead member role she drives economic growth in Brent, as well as leading on innovative strategies on inclusive growth and affordable workspace. Shama also sits on the West London Economic Prosperity Board.

 

Shama is a LGA Labour Peer and previously was a LGA City Regions Board Member.

 

Cllr Shama Tatler is also a support facilitator for Shared Service Architects and delivers leadership courses for councillors.

 

Before she took on the role of Cabinet Member full time, Shama was a teacher for ten years, teaching History at Secondary level and holding the positions of Gifted and Talented Co-ordinator, Head of History and Head of Humanities.
