The Chair invited Philip Clifford, Senior Adviser, to introduce the item. 

Philip stated that following discussions with members at the last Board meeting, this paper sets out the headline elements of a survey of council trade and investment activities and asks members to agree next steps regarding timing and outputs.  Philip concluded that the survey will be carried out over the summer. 

·      The Chair noted the establishment of a LEP/CA officer structure for the North of England to coordinate trade and investment and stated that he will liaise with officers regarding a contact.
