Minutes:
Following the Secretary of State’s session, the Chairman commenced the rest of the meeting by formally welcoming members, in particular those members who were new to the Forum.
He noted the sad passing of MPs James Brokenshire and Sir David Amess and said that he had passed on condolences and best wishes to their families on behalf of local government. The murder of Sir David Amess had profound consequences for all public servants and the LGA would be redoubling its work around civility in public life to try and ensure greater protections could be put in place.
