Philip Clifford, Senior Adviser, introduced the paper and provided an update on recent work to improve the provision of growth funding from national to local government highlighting correspondence with the Secretary of State relating to the Levelling Up Fund.

A Member emphasised the importance of submitting bids to government, even if not successful every time.
