Philip is Deputy Leader of the Conservatives at Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, a new Unitary Authority created in 2019 bringing together four previous authorities.
He also served as Cabinet Member for Bournemouth Council with responsibility for Local Government Reorganisation, Economic Development and Property. In this role, he was responsible for the creation of the new BCP Council including all of its new functions. The hope and aim is that the new Council will be a blueprint in how a modern Council should function; covering everything from Scrutiny, Governance and Engagement to being a digital trendsetter.
Philip has previously also served on the Environment, Economy, Housing and Transport Board at the LGA and has also undertaken both the Next Generation and Leadership Academy Programmes.
