Additional Information

In 2011 I was elected to Christchurch Borough Council, to give a strong voice for local needs. This led to involvement in my ward to group with another set of residents to form the management team of the new Somerford ARC community centre from Sovereign Housing Association. Starting initiatives and clubs to help people of all ages in this deprived area. I remain a trustee. For the past 4 years I have been a Parent Governor at Highcliffe School Academy where our 18 and 14 year old sons attend. Taking an active role as initially as chair of resources and planning, and link for English & mathematics. For the past 2 years I have been the chair of Governors. Christchurch Borough Council transformed into the combined Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council in April 2019. I became Leader of the 8 Christchurch Independent councillor, grouping together to provide a better representation for residents. I continue to sit on the Appeals Committee (HR and Transport) and the Planning Committee. I am also a member of the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Authority and the BCP Council representative on the areas Hospital Trust. I am the shadow Portfolio Holder for the Environment & Waste. The flexible can do approach throughout my financial services career has enabled me to adapt to budget constraints, economic developments, changes in benefits and housing legislation to address resident’s needs. A proven professional with significant knowledge across areas including customer service, product development, strategic decision making, and collaborative working. Demonstrated technical experience, attention to detail and an ability to adapt and learn have led to high achievements in a range of areas. Recognised for having a positive attitude towards people, service, colleagues and external parties, which has led to enhanced service propositions and customer experiences.
